Get a sneak peek at each weeks topics
(topics may vary according to your needs)
you'll grow even more brilliant than you already are!
Week 1:
Who are you?
Everyone is different. Because of that, it is important to know all about yourself before figuring out what you want. We’ll dig deep and uncover your talents, strengths, challenges and interests. You are unique and what you have to offer the world matters.
Week 2:
Be on a mission.
Businesses have what is called a “mission statement.”
You are more important than any business out there; why shouldn’t you have one too? This week you will write your mission. It'll be all about you, what you want and what you’re going to do to get it.
Week 3:
Who & how do you tell?
Communication is important, especially when there are big things to share. This week you'll learn to pick a group of trusted people to support you in being your best self. We’ll focus on how to talk with those people, to help them help you. Oh, and learn about listening too!
Week 4:
What about Bullies?
Let's work on getting Bully Proof because, the truth is, you'll run across bullies your whole life. There's teasing, and then there's bullying. Learn to know the difference and how to react to both. There are tricks and tips you can learn to become Bully Proof, and then you can share them!
Week 5:
What about the stuff
I DON’T want to do?
The rules, right. Sometimes we get to do things we don’t like. Yes, “get to!” This weeks' focus is on how to make the “have to’s” into “get to’s.” Hint; it’s a mindset and communication matter! Bonus; it'll improve friendships!
Week 6:
Ready for the plan?
Sometimes good things happen to people by accident, other times people work pretty hard to get what they want. This weeks' focus is on creating a plan to help you work smarter and achieve more. You’ll make all kinds of plans!
Week 8:
Repeat after me:
I am a leader!
Everyone has the ability to be a leader in some way. You'll find yours. When to lead and when to follow? That's the question. It is a great feeling to be a leader. Let’s focus on helping you find followers too.
Are you between the ages of 13 and 17?

She's awesome!
She is caring and great at helping me take better approaches to resolving my issues. She has asked open ended questions that help me discover things about myself that I would have had a difficult time just throwing out there.
It's Always Good To Talk!
Liz really helped me talk things out, and understand why I was feeling a certain way. I appreciated being able to chat with her any time I wanted, and getting a response quickly. I am appreciative of her help!

Elizabeth Merriweather, LCSW, has over 30 years of combined experience practicing social work, life coaching and psychotherapy. A graduate of Eastern Michigan University with a Master's Degree in social work, Coach Liz is certified through the Institute for Life Coach Training, an International Coaching Federation accredited program. Coach Liz founded 8 Weeks to Personal Brilliance out of a desire to help youth be their best selves.
Each Ask Coach Liz coach is a master's degree, licensed mental health professional. Although, in this role, they will not be performing therapy, but coaching. If it's deemed your child would benefit more from counseling than coaching, the coach will reach out to you with that recommendation.
Your child will be treated with the utmost of respect and positive regard. Our coaches are trained to be masterful listeners and expert at guiding others in discovering their unique path to success. The guidance comes more from asking questions and allowing your child to discover the path that will work best for them.
Life coaching is not a substitute for counseling or therapy. If you child has anger problems it's best to have him/her evaluated by a trained, licensed and experienced therapist first.
8 Weeks to Personal Brilliance is only an 8 week program. However, should you wish your child to continue coaching with Coach Liz, please inquire by clicking the Need Help icon (lower right hand side of page).
Your child will receive a customized certificate of completion that they can proudly display! If additional support is suggested your child's coach will make that recommendation to you for your consideration.
Once you sign your child up, the program will begin the following Monday. Each subsequent Monday a new Brilliance topic will be introduced.
